Terms of Service

← Back to CrashMeet

These Terms are the agreement between you and CRASHMEET, LLC for using CrashMeet. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use CrashMeet.

Two things worth reading before anything else.

1. CrashMeet helps you meet people in person. We do not screen, verify, or run background checks on anyone. Meeting someone from the app carries real risk. Section 7 covers this, and it is the most important section in this document.

2. Section 15 requires most disputes to go to individual arbitration and waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You can opt out within 30 days of first accepting these Terms — instructions are in that section.

1Who can use CrashMeet

You must be at least 13 years old to use CrashMeet. If you are under 18, you may use it only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms with you.

You may not use CrashMeet if you have previously been removed from it, or if applicable law bars you from doing so. By using CrashMeet you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are not a registered sex offender.

2Your account

You can delete your account at any time from the Me tab → menu → Leave CrashMeet. What that removes is described in the Privacy Policy.

3Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use CrashMeet for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. We reserve every right not expressly granted.

You may not: reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app except where that restriction is unenforceable by law; scrape, crawl, or harvest data from CrashMeet; use bots or automated means to access it; resell or commercially exploit any part of it; or circumvent any security, rate limit, or access control.

4Your content

You own what you post. Photos, videos, event descriptions, messages, and everything else you create stay yours.

To operate the app, you grant CRASHMEET, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example resizing and compressing), and display your content solely to run and improve CrashMeet and to show your content to the audience you selected for it. This licence exists so we can put your photo on a screen; it is not permission to use your content for advertising or to license it to anyone else.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that: (a) copies may persist briefly in backups, and (b) content you sent to other people may remain in their copy of a conversation.

You represent that you have the rights to everything you post, and that posting it doesn't violate anyone's privacy, publicity, or intellectual-property rights. Be especially careful posting photos of other people — including people who aren't on CrashMeet.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without obligation to you.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on CrashMeet infringes your copyright, email kvjensen99@gmail.com with: your contact details; identification of the work; where the material is in the app; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're authorized to act; and your signature. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.

5Acceptable use

Don't use CrashMeet to:

You can block anyone from their profile, and report content or accounts from inside the app.

6Location sharing

CrashMeet's sharing features (Pulse, Route Share, Blast, Convoy) are off until you turn them on, are limited to an audience you choose, and expire on their own. You can stop a share at any time.

Understand what sharing means:

Location accuracy depends on your device, GPS, and network conditions. We don't guarantee it, and it should never be relied on for emergencies or navigation.

7Safety — meeting people in person

CrashMeet does not conduct background checks, identity verification, or criminal screening of any user. We do not vet events or hosts. Anyone can create an account with a working phone number.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and for your own safety. We are not a party to what happens between you and anyone you meet through CrashMeet, whether online or in person, and we have no duty to intervene.

Please take ordinary precautions:

If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services (911 in the US). CrashMeet is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help. To report a user, use the in-app report action or email kvjensen99@gmail.com.

8Events, hosts, and tickets

9Third-party services and links

CrashMeet uses third-party services to run (including Google Firebase and Google Maps) and links out to third-party sites. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Maps and place data are provided by Google and are subject to Google's Terms of Service. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.

10Moderation, suspension, and termination

We may remove content, limit visibility, or suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or creates a risk to other people or to us. Where it's practical and lawful, we'll tell you why — but for serious safety issues we may act immediately and without notice.

You may stop using CrashMeet and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licences already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and general terms — do survive.

We may also change, suspend, or discontinue any part of CrashMeet, or the whole service, at any time. We'll give reasonable notice of a shutdown where we can.

11Our intellectual property

CrashMeet — the app, its design, its code, the name, the logo, and everything we create for it — belongs to CRASHMEET, LLC and is protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms don't give you any right to use our name or branding except as the app itself allows.

12Beta software

CrashMeet is in active development and currently in private beta. Features may change, break, or be removed. Data loss is possible. Don't rely on CrashMeet as your only record of anything you care about.

13Disclaimers

14Limitation of liability

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold CRASHMEET, LLC harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone's rights.

15Dispute resolution and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court and to have a jury hear your claims.

a. Talk to us first

Most problems can be sorted out quickly. Before starting a formal proceeding, email kvjensen99@gmail.com with a description of the dispute and what you'd like us to do. If we can't resolve it within 60 days, either of us may begin arbitration.

b. Binding individual arbitration

Except as stated in (d), you and CRASHMEET, LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or CrashMeet will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court. Arbitration is administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator. The arbitration will be held in Utah, or by phone or video, or in your county of residence if you prefer. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could.

The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

c. Class action waiver

You and CRASHMEET, LLC agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — must proceed in court.

d. What is NOT covered

Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may also seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Nothing here prevents you from reporting a concern to a government agency.

e. Your 30-day right to opt out

You can reject this arbitration agreement. Email kvjensen99@gmail.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including your name and the phone number on your account. Opting out costs you nothing, has no effect on your account or your use of CrashMeet, and leaves the rest of these Terms in force. If you opt out, disputes go to the courts described in Section 18.

If we ever change this Section 15, you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days of the change taking effect, and the previous version will continue to apply to you.

16App store terms

If you downloaded CrashMeet from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and CRASHMEET, LLC, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims, or for any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government prohibited-party list.

If you downloaded CrashMeet from Google Play, these Terms are between you and CRASHMEET, LLC, not Google, and Google is not responsible for the app.

17Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. For material changes we'll give notice in the app or by notification before they take effect. Continuing to use CrashMeet after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, delete your account.
